Ezekiel 40 Devotions by Stephen Taylor

Ezekiel 40:4

The man said to me, “Son of man, look carefully and listen closely and pay attention to everything I am going to show you, for that is why you have been brought here. Tell the people of Israel everything you see.”

God gave Ezekiel many visions for various reasons, and this is the beginning of one about a Temple. What the Lord brought to my attention this morning is how closely He wants Ezekiel to pay attention so that he may take it and describe it to the Israelites. These truths that He is about to show Ezekiel are important and need to be shared.

The same can be said about our lives in Christ. Each one of us must be paying attention to Him and then taking what He teaches and shows us to those around us. We must be willing to both focus upon Him and take Him to those around us. Everyone who Christ has saved has been saved for a purpose; part of our purpose is to worship God, walk in obedience to His commands, and grow in His likeness.

A second part is to take Him to those around us. God doesn’t need us in His ministry, yet He allows those who were lost to take the message of life to those who are still trapped in their sin. It’s amazing that He would allow us this great privilege and responsibility. What are we doing with this? Are we living example of the Living God, or are we something else? None of us is perfect, but each of us must be growing in His likeness, and let us be filled with a willingness to share Him the way He deserves to be shared: Scripturally and always through the Spirit and not the flesh! Lord, please help us!

Philippians 4:8,9- Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

God bless! I love you all, but His love calls us from darkness to light; will you go? Glory, honor, and praise now and forever to Papa God, Jesus Christ our King, and the Holy Spirit!
