Many Against One – Children’s Sermon on Jesus Vs. Legion – Luke 8:26-39

Many Against One – Children’s Sermon on Jesus Vs. Legion – Luke 8:26-39

Needed: Nothing

Scripture: Luke 8:26-39

Children’s Sermon: Ask, do any of you have a favorite superhero? Who’s your favorite superhero? Why do you like them so much?

Have you ever seen that superhero fight a bunch of bad guys at one time, and win the fight?

How could the superhero fight so many bad guys and win when the superhero is only one person? They’re outnumbered!

The superhero has to be really powerful to fight so many at once.

Keep that in mind as we read this story about Jesus.

(Read Luke 8:26-39.)

How many demons were inside the man? (Many.)

How many Jesuses were there? (One)

So it was a bunch of demons, a bunch of bad spirits, against one Jesus. And who won? (Jesus)

Jesus wasn’t fighting the demons physically, but He was fighting them spiritually, and even though He was only person, He was able to win against many demons.

How could Jesus do that? (Because He’s so powerful.)

Jesus is the most powerful. In fact, He’s God. He has all the power of God. You can trust Jesus to win the fight every time.

Closing Prayer: Jesus, we thank You for being our superhero who will always win the spiritual battles. Help us to trust You and always ask You for help. Amen.
